Figure: Chinese rule of nines(flow chart) |
Chinese people are best at simplifying complex things. They do not necessarily follow what the rest of the world does. Various formulas and theories in medicine are made for an ideal human being and we should modify it to the extent which is acceptable for each individual. Rule of nines divides the human body into multiple sections each of 9%. But as we know, people from different parts of the world have different body sizes. Due to this fact, many formulas should be modified to use on different individuals. China has made some modifications in the rule of nine that suit the Chinese people. It also overcomes the limitations of Wallace rule of nines. The modified version is applicable for all ages and both males and females.
*Note: All the percentages of the different body parts may vary from the Wallace rule(1951). If you are not interested in how china uses the rule of nine, you may click here to get to the international rule of nine/ Wallace rule of nines(1951).
